--Story Setting--
Orochi lay imprisoned in darkness for centuries. The leaders of the Mystic Realm handed down this punishment, and it was Susano'o who stepped forward to deliver the Serpent King, in chains, before them. For his crimes against a particular family, Orochi was chained to the stone floor of his cell and left to lie there for all eternity. And so it was, until the unthinkable happened.
The vixen, Da Ji, stole into the prison of the Mystics, using an illusion to disguise herself as one who was known to the guards. Slipping into Orochi's cell, she freed him from the chains of binding and swore herself to his service.
Now free of the chains that had sapped his strength, Orochi wasted no time, using his powers, along with the extra strength Da Ji's service lent him, in creating a distorted realm to be his new home. With this done, he sent Da Ji out to shift through the Mystic Realm, finding others that would aid his cause.
For fifty years, Orochi floated within his realm, entirely closed off from the outer realms, as if in a mystical womb. He waited, and plotted. Eventually he emerged, and Da Ji was there, with others who would swear themselves to him and his cause.
Bolstered by this power, he reached into the lands of the mortal realm and began to pluck great warriors; both men and woman and bring them into the distorted realm. Entire pieces of land from both the lands of China and Japan began to appear within the realm.
With this accomplished, he stretched his hands out across history in order to draw others of similar power to further enhance his realm. Da Ji remained at his side the entire time, reveling in the chaos that was to spread across this land.
At first, the warriors fought and squabbled among themselves, unsure of what had happened or why they were in this strange new world, that was both familiar and unfamiliar to them. It was only then that Orochi pulled his serpent armies in and began to wage war upon the mortals.
He quickly took Osaka Castle and established it as his base of operations. In the first two months since the warriors were brought into this land, he largely decimated the armies that had been brought with them. By the third month, it was clear that they were no match for Orochi, and a number of them came over to his side, bolstering his powers even farther.
Yet events within the distorted realm were no longer going unnoticed by those within the Mystic realm. Indeed, after his escape, a faction had emerged to return him to his prison, led by Susano'o. With the distorted realm becoming open to their eyes, the Mystics could witness the war Orochi was waging against the people.
Susano'o led his forces in, confident that they could defeat Orochi and return the mortals to their own time periods and realms. Yet Orochi had grown too powerful and Susano'o was defeated. Forced to retreat, the Mystics took up refuge in Bai Di Castle.
Several of the Mystics accompanying Susano'o pushed for the inclusion of mortals within their forces, feeling that if Orochi could gain power from those serving him, then surely these warriors were powerful enough to help the Mystics stop the Serpent King.
Susano'o grudgingly accepted the proposal, and a Mystic army began to form as those officers still with hope for this new land, began to join it's ranks.
Now entering the sixth month since coming to this new world, the armies of Orochi and the Mystics are roughly equal.
Only time will tell what the future holds for this realm, and whether Orochi can be returned to his prison. Or whether he will rule over this new world and move on to conquer others.
