--Guide: Profiles--
Thread Content
The following guide is to help you with the various aspects of writing a profile. If you need any help beyond this, please ask in the Help board.
Note: Some aspects of the profile are optional. If you are not going to utilize these areas, please leave them blank. (In the event they have a hint within (), erase it.) This is to ensure the profile remains orderly and neat.
Second Note:
We are adopting an "expansion system" for the forum.
At this time, only playable officers from Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and Warriors Orochi are canon within our setting.
Characters from other "Warriors" games will be introduced as time passes, by adding an Expansion Pack to the forum setting.
What this means, is that while Joan of Arc is usable because of her being on the Warriors Orochi roster, and her history from medieval Europe is also present, custom officers or other Bladestorm officers are NOT permitted at this time.
This includes creating a custom officer to mimic an officer from another Warriors game. Such as creating a custom version of Nami from Pirate Warriors, or Link from Hyrule Warriors.
This will not be allowed, until such time as the Expansion is implemented, and then the characters will be available with full backstory.
This information is perhaps the most easy to fill out.
.:Name:. This is the name your character is known by.
Custom characters can utilize these naming formats.
For characters originating in the Three Kingdoms, please use the format (family name, given name). Example: John Doe becomes Doe John.
For characters originating in the Sengoku Era, you may use the above format or the Westernized version. (Three Kingdoms: Doe John) (Westernized: John Doe) (Note: Canon SW officers can use either of these as well.)
For mystic characters, you can simply use their names as written within Warriors Orochi.
As expansions are added to the forum, new naming formats may be introduced, for the various settings that will merge with our own.
.:Nickname:. This is simply a name friends would call you.
.:Age:. How old your character is.
.:Gender:. Is your character male or female?
.:Faction:.
This is an important decision. Each character is allowed to be a part of one of the three Main Factions, as well as being part of a player run faction.
Take careful note, the Mystics and Orochi factions are at war with one another. There is generally no such thing as a "peaceful" interaction between them.
While the Mystics can be seen as "good" and Orochi can be seen as "evil", do not think you have to be that alignment to be a part of that faction.
You could be evil and join the Mystics, with the intent of subverting them or working mischief within the ranks. Or maybe you simply want to get Orochi taken out so you can be a bigger evil than he is.
Similarly, you can be good and join Orochi's cause, with the intent of undermining his force, or you simply might not like the methods of the Mystics.
How you RP your character is up to you. That being said, if you do not wish to pick a side, you can choose Unaligned. This simply means you would either be entirely neutral and not participate in the war at all, or you would act as a mercenary, hiring out to either side as they desire your services.
Player factions require a minimum of three officers, and a PM application sent to the Staff for review.
.:Era:. This is to help categorize what time period your character comes from.
All canon Dynasty Warriors officers would select Three Kingdoms.
All canon Samurai Warriors officers would select Sengoku.
The special characters in Warriors Orochi can use a custom era, based on the setting and origin of their officer.
Custom officers will need to pick which Era they were born in.
.:Other Characters:. This is simply a list of other characters you are playing.
.:Appearance/Clothing/Armor:.
This section can be used to detail all aspects of your character's physical appearance, and items of clothing they wear.
.:Personality:.
This section is for your character's personality traits and quirks.
.:Weapons:.
Each character is allowed to start out with two weapons, or weapon sets.
A weapon set is when you dual wield two weapons at the same time.
You can use the provided fields to name your weapon/set, provide a type, and either use a description or image.
.:Animals:.
(Animals are optional.)
You can use this section to create a horse for yourself. All horses must be basic level, meaning they are all the same.
Special horses can be earned via special events. (Red Hare, Matzukaze, etc)
A field has been provided for pets.
You can have a single combat-related pet.(Wolf, Tiger, etc)
Any other pets must be non-combat and for personal RP only. (Cat, Dog, Squirrel, etc)
(Family is optional.)
There are fields provided for the names of family members. You can include a more detailed family description beneath the other relatives section.
History has been divided into two sections.
.:Early History:.
This is for your time BEFORE Orochi dragged you into the Distorted Realm. Whether you lived in China or Japan, this is a chronicle of your early life. Childhood, being a teenager, etc.
Please keep in mind, there is no exact time frame for when each character has been pulled from their normal life and into this realm. Therefore, details about specific battles or events may not appear in other characters.
For example, someone creating Zhuge Liang might have something in their profile about being drawn from the midst of battle in Chi Bi. Then Sima Yi is created and their profile has it from Wu Zhang Plains. It can become confusing.
While we won't stop you from doing it, keep those facts in mind when writing your history. It's better to focus more on early learning and childhood. If you must include something about being pulled into the Distorted Realm, simply keep it hazy as to the exact year or date it happened.
Good Example: <zhuge liang's childhood, teenage years> <liang was pulled into the distorted realm in the midst of a battle>
Bad Example: <zhuge liang was pulled into the distorted realm in the year ### AD, after helping to defeat Wei at the battle of Chi Bi>
.:Recent History:.
This section is for history that takes place AFTER Orochi pulls you into the distorted realm.
The current setting is that only about six months have passed since you were pulled in. So you can write about how you came to join your faction(if Mystic/Orochi), or what you have been doing in that time.
Keep in mind, that not all locations from China or Japan will be present in the new world. To that end, if you wish to have locations, you can write more of your history in a character journal, after the map has been created.
(Musou and Strong Attacks are optional.)
.:Musou:.
This must be non-elemental. You can include a piece in the description to add a single elemental effect, if an orb is carried. If the musou comes from the games, please include which and the character that uses it.
The number of posts in which a musou can use is limited at three. This number may be augmented with items.
As long as it is not abused, musous can be any one of the following options:
1) A strong attack (mostly commonly seen in the games)
2) A healing power (to heal self or others)
3) An energy blast (this can be non-elemental knockback, an orb can make this elemental [fire -> fireball, ice -> cone of cold, etc]
4) A personal buff (this can be an enhanced sense(hearing, touch, sight) or a 2x buff to one of the following: speed, dexterity, jump)
If the musou system is abused, it will be restructured and downgraded into something with stricter usages.
.:Strong Attacks:.
A strong attack is nothing more than an attack. It may not be used for healing or buffs.
You are allowed to have two free elemental strong attacks.
These strong attacks can only use a single element.
The available elements are: Fire, Ice, Lightning, Earth, Wind, Water, Light, and Shadow
Fields have been provided for these two attacks.
After these two, any other elemental strong attacks MUST have an orb carried in order to function.
You are free to list as many strong attacks as you like.
Similar to Musou, those found to be abusing this feature will be punished by the staff.
Abuse constitutes not carrying the orb a strong attack requires, yet still using it in your roleplay.
This final section is for your own personal information. You can give us a name to be known by on the forum, as well as your age, gender, and location.
